Cheap property in Malaga

Malaga has it all, not just cheaper property prices. Imagine taking a stroll and a lovely sunny morning, along the seafront promenade, lined with lush, green, palm trees and beautiful floral displays.  – This doesn’t have to be a dream.  Property prices in Spain, like the UK have flat-lined and they’re starting to drop, which for the buyer is a great time to pick up a bargain.

Malaga and especially the Costa del Sol, is a great area for Expats, and it has a strong community feel and it’s a great place for families. If you fancy early retirement in warm sunshine 320 days a year and the occasional round of golf, Malaga is the place to be.

You can get away without speaking Spanish if you don’t want to and you will easily find a welcoming Expat group. The school system, the health system and the policing is all better than the UK

Cheap property in Spain

Spanish property companies historically built far too many houses and apartments in the property boom era and selling these properties has been a long slog. There are cheap properties available. Apartment in an established resort from 50,000€ or townhouses from 90,000€ and villas and country homes form 150,000€. There are several property hotspots in Malaga, in and around the Costa del Sol to consider.

You can get a two-bed apartment in Manilva for around 100,000€, although you’ll pay more in the charming village of Casares Pueblo. Marbella is and probably will always be a booming area, with new developments back in and a massive demand for holiday rentals and investments, Marbella on the Costa del Sol, really has it all,

You can get an apartment in a complex for 180,000€ but a spacious apartment in a secure, gated community in a sought-after location would be nearer 300,000€. Popular areas include Estepona, San Pedro, Nueva Andalusia, Mijas Costa and Benahavis. Benalmadena is another popular location with tourists and expats and you can get a two-bed apartment there for around 180,000€.

The nearby Costa Almeria, a stretch of unspoilt coastline between Murcia and Granada, is not as developed as the Costa del Sol, perhaps not as well-known by the British, yet its fans like the fact its villages retain much of their Spanish identity – it’s the “real Spain” still. Mojacar remains a popular spot, less than one hour’s drive from the airport, and a central location for getting around Almeria as well as a traditional holiday destination – ideal for families and couples in its own right. You have plenty of choice of one or two-bed apartments with a budget of €120,000; villas range from just over €235k.
